Private Alfred Daw of Forestville killed in action at the battle of Passchendaele, November 10, 1917. Alfred was born in London, England on November 21, 1896. At the time of enlisting in the 133rd Norfolk Battalion in December 1915, he was farming near the Forestville area. He would later be transferred to the 1st Canadian Machine Gun Brigade. He is buried in the Passchendaele New British Cemetery, Belgium.
