Lance Corporal Lorne Bowyer

Sent Nov 1 – Lance Corporal Lorne Bowyer, killed in action August 15, 1917 in the Battle of Hill 70. Lorne was born near Silver Hill, Walsingham on August 6, 1895. He was one 29 Norfolk soldiers who died that day. For Norfolk, the Battle was the deadliest day of combat in our history. They held a service in his memory in the Presbyterian Church in Walsingham two weeks later. The turn out was beyond the capacity of the church.

They Remembered. We will Remember.
